It’s been one of those weeks. Work has been keeping me more than busy and by the time I get home I’m left feeling tired and a little dazed!

Usually I try and post an article on InDenialHealth.com every day but regular readers will note that it’s been quite a few days since my last post. It’s not because I haven’t had anything to write about, it’s simply a case of taking a little time out to recharge my batteries and relax. More commonly known as ‘Me Time’.

Instead of rushing home from work and then madly trying to write posts for my blog, organising dinner, preparing loved ones schedules, cleaning the house, worming the dog (yes, you read that right!), doing a bit of online marketing and finally sitting down to eat a meal, I decided instead to take myself off to the beach.

I walked for probably one hour or so along the beach, ran a little chasing my dog and generally had a terrific time.

This type of ‘Me Time’ is a fantastic way to get some perspective on life. All of a sudden the stresses of those ever increasing ‘To Do Lists’ are swept away by waves gently lapping at your feet. For me, connecting with nature gives me that much needed boost and reminds me that when all is said and done, most things can wait. This included the dog who is more than happy to fore-go the worming and opt instead for a nice long walk along our local beach.

You need to prioritize yourself at the top of your ‘To Do List’. The benefits are many, you will feel refreshed, less overwhelmed, happy, clear headed and you get some exercise for the day.

You didn’t even realize it at the time but having ‘Me Time’ meant your mind and body got a workout!
