Random Stumble – What Would You Do With Five Years?
February 7th, 2009
Today’s random stumble really struck a chord when I read it earlier this morning. The timing of this piece coincides with what has been a difficult week for family and friends of a work colleague who informed us she has a terminal illness.
Her prognosis has left her and those around literally stunned. She is 52 years old and has probably 1 year to live, depending on how well she responds to treatment.
I remember thinking at the time how quickly life can be taken and just how important it is to live each and every day with happiness, love and fun. All too often we get caught up in what I call the treadmill of life. I’m not sure when or how it happens but we get into a routine of finding a good job, working hard and hopefully finishing our careers on top. For many, we spend our entire lives doing something we neither particularly care for or enjoy.
Its the journey, not the destination that counts
I’m not suggesting this is the case for everyone but it does seem quite a few of us do feel at least some of this is true for the life we are living right now.
So I highly recommend you check out : What Would You Do With Five Years?
