Bushfire Appeal
February 8th, 2009
It has been a terrible weekend for Australia, in particular Victorians as we wake this morning to the news that 173 people have so far died from the devastating bushfires sweeping their State.
Over 750 homes have been lost and 3733 people have registered with the Red Cross having evacuated their properties.
Right now the survivors need food, shelter and clothes so please consider donating to the Red Cross State Government Victorian Bushfire Appeal Fund:
* Visit www.redcross.org.au
* Phone 1800 811 700
* Any NAB, ANZ, Westpac or Commonwealth Bank branch
* Any Bunnings store
* By direct deposit to the Victorian Bushfire Relief Fund – BSB 082-001, Account number 860-046-797
Myer Bushfire Appeal
* All proceeds to the Salvation Army. Donate at any Victorian Myer store
The other victims of these bushfires are the wildlife, 100,000’s of animals will have died or suffered injury as a result of the fires. 2 wildlife rehabilitation centres have been confirmed lost to the fires and we expect more as the days go on. Government rarely supports wildlife sanctuaries so it falls on the public to donate. Please consider this as well when deciding to donate.
