Hi Sam :)

I had a pretty fair idea you weren't being serious ;)

You HAVE to track down field mushrooms! They are so tasty and just all round gorgeous.

I take your point regarding the research. Actually, I rarely post on latest research because most of the time I think it confuses more than clarifies.
Thanks again for commenting, I appreciate it!

I wasn't completely serious, Sally. ;)

I've never tried a big field mushroom, because I'm not well-versed in which ones make a good sautee versus which ones make a bad trip and/or will get you thrown in jail. I stick to the ones wrapped in cellophane with nice, corporate labels.

But I am serious about the research: we already knew that substituting low-cal foods for high-cal foods helps folks lose weight. I guess I'm missing the part where this study brought something new to the table. Heh.

Hi Sam :)

Mushrooms fried in butter, Yum! I can eat them all day every day but think they deserve more credit than garnish status ;)

Recent research found that eating low-energy density foods like mushrooms in place of high-energy density foods like lean ground beef is good for preventing or treating obesity.

Have you ever tried a big field mushroom? They can almost be as big as a t-bone I'll have you know ;)

Thanks for commenting :)

I LOVE mushrooms, especially when they're fried up in a bit of butter with a hint of salt and pepper. That said, I'm surprised it took a study to determine that they are lower in calories than a nice T-bone.

And equally as filling? That's just crazy talk! Mushrooms are only a step above parsley. They go on *top* of the real food! ;)
