This is the final in a series of videos from Diet.com called the PhotoShop Effect.
I have really enjoyed watching these videos, it’s been insightful and made me think more about how I look at myself and others. In previous videos we have seen how the media industry uses photoshop to fix up images before printing and discusses whether banning or disclaimers should be used on those that have been retouched.

In this video one of the questions asked is, do you compare yourself with other women including friends?
If I am completely honest I would say that I do compare myself. In-fact, I have even done this with my Mom! I’m not sure if it’s competitiveness or whether it’s just a case of using others as a measuring stick for your own body image.
It is destructive though and we need to stop doing it.

It is well worth watching the previous two videos as well if you have a few spare moments :) You can watch them by visiting Impossible body image and Impossible Body Image Part 2.
