Tomorrow is Earth Hour 2008 and at 8pm millions of people around the world will turn off their lights for one hour.

Turning off your lights for one hour symbolizes the need to take action and is a small thing you can do in a united effort with others concerned about the affects climate change is having on our planet.

This event started last year in Sydney, Australia and is now going global. No-one is suggesting that turning off our lights for one hour is going to have a huge impact on the planet but I think this event is more about people showing their support for an issue that concerns many of us and inspiring us to conserve energy.

So please try and take part tomorrow, I for one will be finding a nice spot to do a bit of stargazing. Should be pretty neat without all those city lights!

This video gives you a bit of background to Earth Hour 2008.
