Victorian Government promises to spend $1.4bn in health upgrades

The Victorian Government, currently in election mode, has announced that it will inject $1.4bn to upgrade hospitals and health services if re-elected. Read article
It’s a shame that Governments wait til election time to pull out the public purse and offer up money but I guess it’s a start.
I also noticed that nothing about preventative education programmes were mentioned. It’s a shame that serious funding isn’t given to community and population health units so that they can try and stop people from developing serious chronic conditions, thus reducing numbers in beds but I guess the politician knows best ;) !
