A National report on cancer and Canadians between the ages of 20 and 44 finds that young women are much more likely to die of cancer than young men. Read story

Rates of more common cancers in women like cervical, colorectal and ovarian cancers have declined, overall cancer rates remain the same because lung cancer in young women is on the rise. More young women are being diagnosed with lung cancer than young men.

The decline is some cancers shows that public health campaigns do have a positive influence on people taking more control of their own health.
